school again

Today was my first day of the Fall semester.

I thought it would be an incredible idea to stack all of my classes into two days.

Over ten hours of class, with no breaks in between.

It feels like a bit much, at least right now.

At least the apartment situation is much better.

I feel much more comfortable here, no one is loudly masturbating in the other room.

(Unfortunately, this did happen.)

I've learned my lesson, and have now told my current roommate to at least keep it down.

This is at least vaguely what he looks like.

White Monster

It is truly unfortunate how delicious White Monster tastes.

I know it's supposed to be like vaguely "citrusy", but surely it's just grapefruit flavored.

I wish they made non-caffeinated versions of White Monster, so I would be able to drink as many as I want, whenever I want.

If you feel the same way as me, fortunately there is sort of a solution.

The Monster company does actually make alcoholic versions of their most popular drinks, White Monster included. This is a huge game changer, and spoilers, but it tastes just like regular White Monster. The only downside is that its called The Beast, and that they only come in twelve ounce cans.

Believe it or not, I am STILL trying to not drink energy drinks anymore, but this drink alone has made it feel impossible. It is impossible to describe how absolutely delectable this drink is. Warm or ice-cold, this drink is the nectar of the gods.

change

Now that the school season has begun, and with nearly all of my friends transferring away, it brings an interesting question to my mind.

Will they always be my friends?

For context, that community college is the only school that I have ever gone to for more than two consecutive years. With all of my other schooling, whenever I would have to change schools, I never really bothered to keep in touch.

I really hope that this time is different, and I think it has the capacity to be.

(Nearly all of us are big MTG fans, and playing it with them is really fun.)

Additionally, on the bright side, almost all of us are about an hour away from each other.

With the exception of one person.

This guy is pretty cool. Commander isn't the same without him. That being said, I am sure that he will do great where he's at, and we will for sure play Magic soon.

I'm gonna miss all my hams, but there is no competition for who I will miss most.

(My girlfriend is so awesome.)

Fortunately, she will only be about an hour away from me. :)

misc

Recently I've gotten back into reading Berserk and watching Death Note.

While I have not finished the entiriety of Berserk, I can attest to the perfection that is Death Note.

It is very likely my favorite anime, its only competition being Neon Genesis: Evangelion, and that's saying a lot.

And it's all because of this guy.

Absolute best character in fiction.

There is absolutely no competition.

Also Ryuk is really funny, second best character in Death Note.

I'm also trying to finish a book that I started a bit ago. I don't wanna say the name because then if I don't end up reading it, no one has to know :p.

I just checked it out at the library today, it took me nearly an hour.

I felt like I scanned every inch of every book spine in that library.

But in the end I found the book, so it doesn't really matter.

It reminded me a lot of Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk, except not milk and instead a book.

albums

Recently, I was told to listen to Forward by First Day Back.

I did not care for it.

There just wasn't enough energy in the album.

Not a single memorable track.

I would not recommend this one.

I also listened to POW! Right in the Kisser!.

Another album by super awesome band, Hail The Sun.

I honestly feel that this even better than Wake, or at least is in some ways.

I feel like there is a bit more frustration in this album, and the vocals are even better.

The tracks have a lot of individuality, which is something I appreciate is also in this album.

I would strongly recommend giving this one a listen.

sad news

Unfortunately, Neverway, an indie game that I've talked about previously, has been delayed. Instead of releasing in October, it will be sometime in 2027.

This is more than reasonable of course, for two main reasons.

The game had like a billion major game mechanics going on at once, I would imagine that being very difficult to implement propely for enjoyable gameplay. Also, they're working with an in deveopment game engine (that is also open source, pretty cool huh), and I imagine that would come with its own set of difficulties.

That being said, the game only continues to look better and better.

This preview makes me wonder how long the game will actually be.

If it is at all similar to Stardew Valley, then it would basically be infinite, but also , the game has been stated as having multiple endings, so I am not sure it a slice of life simulator game like Stardew Valley is even on the table. (One can dream.)

RSS Feeds

RSS Feeds are pretty cool.

RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, is a way to get updates from a website.

It is super standardized, so whether it's someone's blog, a news station, or reddit, the RSS feed functions just about the same.

In my mind, it functions as a great way to follow multiple websites at the same time. There are a lot of apps that help funnel all of your RSS feeds into one easy to access space.

While I don't have an RSS feed for this website, I do think it would be a cool thing to implement.

(That being said, I definitely need to make this site mobile friendly first.)

Unfortunately, to find a site that is cool enough to wanna follow AND that site also having an RSS feed is very much unlikely. (Trust me, I am like almost always looking for stuff like that.)

I will likely have to broaden my searches to outside of just Neocities. (Probably Nekoweb, a popular alternative to Neocities.)

For example here is the RSS feed for Garfield.

In a way, especially considering you can gather feeds from different news sites, RSS feeds allow you to create your own newspaper. (And all for free too.)

Personally, I just think it's a funny idea.

conclusion

The semester is starting, and I am very much excited for all of the challenges that it will bring. (Hopefully not too many.)

With any luck, I will be able to get involved in at least one program here at CPP.

(I am currently reading a bunch of papers about LIDAR, which while a super cool technology, is a bit difficult to understand at times.)

Here are my notes so far, hopefully by the time that someone reads this, it will be complete.

as an important side note, i was like incredibly high when writing nearly all of this, so if is mostly incoherent, that is probably why...
